Public Access Defibrillators

Our team have been out checking the public access defibrillators we have undertaken to monitor locally and have now placed a couple of face masks and gloves in each one. Hopefully, you will never need to use it.

However, we would refer both the untrained person and those trained by Heartstart or a First Aid instructor to the latest guidance from the Resuscitation Council UK which can be seen by clicking here.

In essence during the current Covid-19 Pandemic, the guidance suggests that calling an ambulance, using the defibrillator promptly and then using Hands Only chest compressions at the rate of 100-120 per minute to a depth of 5-6 cm will give the best chance for the patient. At this time, you should avoid rescue breaths unless trained AND equipped for such emergencies during the pandemic.

Bransgore Street Collection

In June we deferred our annual street collection because of the Pandemic. We are pleased to advise that we will be holding our annual street collection on Saturday 19th September, between 7.30am and about 4pm in Ringwood Road outside the Co op and the Newsagent. We will be wearing PPE to ensure everyone remains safe. What we raise will go towards keeping the Community First Responder service going in this part of Hampshire. We support the NHS but we receive no funding from them or other agency including those fund raising for the NHS.

If you are passing, please stop and talk to our team. Our new vehicles will be there for people to see. In the new national livery, they will certainly be hard to miss! And of course, we seek your support by perhaps making a donation towards our work. We hope to see you then.

In the meantime Stay Safe, keep to social distancing rules and wear a face covering when in shops and offices.
