As we move into the winter months, it is the intention of South Central Ambulance Service (SCAS) to expand their welfare vehicle project to include having purpose-built welfare vehicles and to run the operation across all areas 7 days a week.

To do this we will require extra volunteers and we are happy to assist circulating the following information:-

Welfare Vehicle Volunteer

• Are you 18 years old or over?
• A good communicator who likes meeting lots of people?
• Held a driving licence for over a year? (with no more than 3 points)
• Able to volunteer on a regular basis for a minimum of 4 hours per week?

SCAS are actively seeking expressions of interest for volunteers to man our welfare vehicles over the coming winter months.

The welfare vehicles play a vital role in delivering basic refreshments to our emergency ambulance crews whilst they are waiting at hospitals. It would be your job to collect the vehicle from its base location, drive to the required hospital and then provide refreshments to our crews whilst having a chat and providing a smile. Unfortunately, Bournemouth Hospital is not included in this project as they have other arrangements.

If this is the sort of rewarding volunteering role you would like to be considered for, please  click here to record your expression of interest and we (SCAS) will be back in touch shortly.

Take care if you are intending to have fireworks at home or with friends.
