xmas

Our new volunteer Sue will be putting in some hours on-call for the benefit of the community locally. Our team are also helping another new volunteer who has restarted a scheme in Brockenhurst. We are hoping, with some publicity and presentations we can get her some more volunteers to help in providing cover in an area that can sometimes present a challenge to the ambulance response times.

Pudding 2Our team are also members of the Bransgore Community First Aid Association, which exists to provide first aid event cover at a small number of local events in return for an agreed donation, where we are unable to do so as Community First Responders. We will be out around Burton on 9th December providing the cover for the Christchurch 10K Run, otherwise known as the Christmas Pudding Run. The Association then offers that donation to the Bransgore Responders to cover, equipment, training and running costs.

As usual we will have a volunteer on call over the Christmas and New Year period, as sadly there are calls that need a response. Even when we are off helping the ambulance service on Friday 21st, one of the busiest nights of the year for the ambulance service, we will have someone on call in and around Bransgore / Burley.

The end of the year is a time for reflection. For some it will have been a good year, for others maybe not so good. Whether you are with family and friends, or maybe this year spending it alone, our team wish you a peaceful and safe Christmas and a Happy and Healthy 2019.
