Obs kitMost of the team have now completed their Observations Skills session, and the first set of "Obs" kit has been issued to our Freelander. All other sets of kits will receive theirs in the near future.
The kit allows us to take blood pressure, temperature, blood sugar levels, measure respiratory peak flow, and use glucose liquid in cases of hypoglycaemia.
We can then provide the arriving ambulance crew with our observations which save them time and enable the patient to be given additional treatment - or a decision as to treatment - made earlier.

New recruit Baz attended his first solo call recently and he took care of his patient and gave appropriate treatment until the arrival of the ambulance. Well done Baz!

The team are revising as our twice yearly requalification session approaches.
