Staff at SELEX Communications are more used to supporting our armed forces by the provision of some of the world's best telecommunications equipment, but generous staff have turned their attention to matters nearer home and focussed on local matters. Their Employee Forum team chose our group to receive their support. They recently awarded us 2000 pounds which will be used to purchase a replacement for the last of our old style Heartstart defibrillators. Many thanks to the Employee Forum Team and all at SELEX Communications.

Over the past few weeks a number of our team have been crewing the DRV operating out of Southampton. The DRV is the Dynamic Response Vehicle, crewed by volunteer Community Responders from across the County. The DRV is sent anywhere in the County if it is close enough to assist with an emergency where a life is at risk. It was originally devised to give Community Responders in areas where they have few calls, some experience in attending emergencies. Our group use it to keep their knowledge and skills current and to experience other types of calls to those we may get in this area. Some of our team also undertake attachments on the emergency ambulances to increase their knowledge and confidence.

As always, we desperately need committed local people to come forward and help us. Just a few hours a week will help us "Make a Difference in Bransgore". Please consider it and read the information leaflet available from the What's Hot section on the Home page.
