February 2012
As we enter February the winter appears to have set in, at least for the time being. Please follow any advice, being given by the emergency services or Met Office. If they advise you not to go out please do follow their advice as a simple fall on ice can become a significant emergency for some and result in life changing injuries.
Yet again we say thanks to Lesley Perkins and her friends who held a Burns Night event and raised £225 for our group with the same going to "Families in Zambia". Support such as this is truly appreciated and we could not operate without the kindness and generosity of those in the community who value what we do.
We were sad to lose Sarah from our team for personal reasons. Sarah was one of the original six who started up the responder group and who, over the years, has contributed so much to the group and to the health and well-being of those in the community who were facing a life threatening crisis. We extend our thanks to Sarah and wish her well for the future. Fortunately she is remaining as an instructor with the Heartstart group to share her knowledge and experience with those who wish to learn how Simple Skills Save Lives.
