We have recently learned that a glitch in the mapping system used by the ambulance service meant that over the past months we have not been receiving details of those call we could have expected to normally attend, as the system did not show the full area of our operations. Although this has now appears to have been rectified it has been extremely frustrating and demoralising for the group members and has manifested itself as reduced numbers of calls to the group. We hope that things will now return to normal and that we can continue to support patients with our service.
At the end of August we presented a Certificate of Appreciation and a photo of the group to Jonathan Gates, proprietor of Gates of Brockenhurst (Peugeot dealer for the New Forest). Jonathan has support us since the early days and helped us when other motor dealers did not. He sponsored and provided our response car for over 2 years and now that we have purchased it from him, he continues to support us - and therefore our community- in a number of ways related to the vehicle. Gates are a family owned local business in Brockenhurst who provide a personal service for their customers. We would urge anyone interested in buying a new Peugeot or pre-owned vehicle to support Gates of Brock simply because of the way they have supported us and enabled us to provide the service we do for the community.
We ask frequently but we do really need more volunteers to help us provide the service we do. For a number of reasons we currently rely on just 5 of our 12 volunteers to provide our on-call cover. We desperately need help. Please contact us on 01425 659899 and we will get back to you promptly to answer any questions you may have. You can view/download our recruiting booklet from the home page of the website.
