Bransgore Community First Responders

In spite of the fact that we have 10 trained Community Responders in our group, we are still struggling to provide the level of cover for the village that we would like.
At the group meeting in February it was decided that this was an issue that we must address and so we will be focussing extra effort throughout the year on recruiting more volunteers. At events such as the Bransgore Fun Day on 4th May and at the Sopley School Fete on 27th June and on our Bransgore street collection day on 18th July, we will be working hard to interest more volunteers in joining us. We will have responders on hand to talk with, equipment to show and information and application packs to take away.
Some people have expressed an interest in the past and then we do not hear from them again. Perhaps they
think they have not got enough time or the necessary skills to help.
Well quite simply you can give as much or as little time as you wish. We obviously hope that members will give
a meaningful amount of time, but all time given is appreciated. And as for skills, if you are
Caring
Have common sense
Are over 18
Have use of a car and
Are of good character
then you have all you need. You will be given the training and support and you do not have
to be any sort of expert. We want local community based people to be Community First Responders.
You are not expected to be a paramedic or doctor.
Please have a think about it. We really do need people to help us Make A Difference in Bransgore.. It could be you that saves a life!
