The year seems to have passed by so quickly and December is a good time to look back on our achievements over the past year, and forward to our future goals.
Through the superb and generous support we have received from the local community, shops, community groups and local residents as well a some of our local business people we have managed:-
To attend a significant number of medical emergency calls in Bransgore and the areas around our village, where a life was at risk, and provide basic life support care until the arrival of the ambulance response
To purchase and re-livery the car that had previously been loaned to us under a sponsorship arrangement.
To continue our partnership and receive vehicle support from Gates of Brockenhurst
To replace one of our defibrillators with the latest type through the kindness of Bransgore & District Rotary Club who donated it to us
Through Heartstart Bransgore-New Forest to provide FREE 2 hour training sessions in basic life support procedure to over 200 local residents and young people on our community,
Shulah and Andy Howes of Walkers Garage Bransgore, together with Responder Sarah. Shulah and Andy ran the New Forest Half Marathan and gave the proceeds to our group.
We know there are likely to be some exciting developments for Bransgore Community First Responders in the coming year, and as soon as we are able, we will report these on the website. However as always, we desperately need local people to come forward and help us. We recognise that the application process (which is out of our hands) can take more weeks than we would like, but the process must be robust and thorough to ensure that those acting as Community Responders are of the highest integrity. Please do not be put off. Just a few hours a week will help us "Make a Difference in Bransgore". Please consider it and read the information leaflet available from the What's Hot section on the Home page.
Our Responder volunteers will again be forgoing a drink over the festive season to make sure that someone is available on call throughout the period. We wish you a very Merry and Safe Christmas and a Happy and Healthy New Year.
