We say a big thank you to Shulah Howes, one of our supporters who ran the New Forest Marathon in 2 hrs 17 mins beating her own time for last year. Shulah secured sponsorship for her efforts in aid of our group and raised a significant amount of money. Some of the sponsors also "Gift Aided" their donations which increases the money we get by 28p in every pound, so thanks to those who ticked the box. Well done Shulah and thanks again.
Our Heartstart group is off to a fine start. After the success of the launch last month, we have a session planned in the village on 25th October but even before then we have been asked to provide the training to 60 young people at a local secondary school. Sadly we have learned that our website did not reach the final 3 in the category of best charity/voluntary group website in the Hantsweb Awards 2008. Congratulations to those who made it and we are pleased we made it into the final 10. Unlike other organisations who spend money on their website, ours is designed and supported by Artymis Web Design who willingly help us. Their support means we do not have to fund our website and we can use the money we raise on the necessary equipment we use to care for patients. Maybe we will have more luck next year.
