You will have seen from our Home page that we are making a plea from the heart for some more volunteers to join us and help "Make a difference in Bransgore ". If you wish to join or simply enquire please go to our "How Can I Help Pages?" from the link on the left of this page.

A small number of our team were on-call for 24 hours at a time over the Christmas and New Year period to ensure we had at least one responder available for the holiday period. We responded to a range of emergencies including several at the request of the ambulance service which were outside our usual area of operations.

During December two of our Responders took part in a pilot scheme operated by South Central Ambulance Service. On Friday evenings and Saturday and Sundays Community Responders from Hampshire were paired up and operated a response car in any area of the county where they were needed by the ambulance service. The responders were sent to any emergencies where a life may have been at risk, as an additional response to the ambulance or rapid response vehicle sent at the same time. In addition to improving the response offered by the service it gave an opportunity to responders to gain more experience in a wider range of emergencies.

Mike and Adrian took their turns driving the car over a number of days and assisted other responders who crewed the car. In spite of the experience both have already gained operating in the Bransgore area, they both attended some unique calls and gained additional experience and skills in scenarios not likely to be readily found in Bransgore. Depending on the results the scheme may carry on into the New Year.
