When the call comes, you stop what you are doing and go.
We will again have volunteers on call over the festive season, ready to respond if sent by the ambulance service. Over the Christmas / New Year week we are short of volunteers as some are away from home or spending time with families, or just enjoying the break. However the 2 or 3 we do have will provide full 24/7 cover throughout. Yes- it means no mulled wined or sherry before lunch, but call it our Christmas present to the village.
If you rely on prescription medicines please remember to make sure you have enough to last you throughout the Christmas and New Year period, and that you follow carefully the instructions for use, even if it means, like us, you cannot have a Christmas drink.
We wish you all a very Happy and Healthy Christmas. Our thoughts are with those for whom this Christmas and New Year may be a particularly difficult time.
