No self-respecting website would ignore Christmas and so this is to remind you that our Responders will be working throughout the Christmas and New Year period. We truly hope that you have a very enjoyable holiday and don't need our help and that of the ambulance service. If you are on prescription medicines please make sure you have enough to last you throughout the holiday period and keep a list of your medicines readily available just in case a crisis arises.

When you are on call you sometimes have to stop what you are doing and go!

Responders have other jobs to do as well so when the call come you just have to stop everything and go!"

Responders achieve award
Three of our Responders have just completed a weeks training to achieve the IHCD First Person on Scene Intermediate Award accredited by Edexcel. The course was funded by a grant that was secured last year from the Scarman Trust to whom we remain grateful. The 3 had to take a weeks holiday and met their own daily travelling costs to achieve the award. We are now trying to find a way of bringing the training to a venue locally and secure an additional grant to provide funds for the others. The training will not affect the levels of support that the Responders can provide under the protocols in existence with the Ambulance Service, but the knowledge they have accrued will be of immense benefit when dealing with patients in different situations.
