Ambulance Community Responder Badge

Bransgore & District Community Responders

Registered Charity No: 1057439
Bransgore, in the New Forest, Hampshire, England
April 2007

Our group are celebrating the arrival of a new "member" to the team. We are very proud to welcome a response car to our team. The car is a Peugeot 206 van which has been fitted with appropriate markings to show its role and which will be used by the main "on-call" responder.

The car has been provided and sponsored by Gates of Brockenhurst, Peugeot dealer for the New Forest. When Jonathan Gates, the owner, heard about our group and what we do, he did not hesitate to show his support in the best way possible. As a result the Bransgore Community as a whole will benefit from this most generous gesture. We wish to thank Gates of Brockenhurst for all their assistance.

The livery style on the vehicle was approved by the Ambulance Trust and was fitted to the vehicle by Bluelite Graphics of Burgess Hill. They helped in the design, production and application of the reflective livery which includes green and yellow chequered side banding, rear high visibility markings as fitted to ambulance and police cars, community responder markings on the sides and bonnet, and a roof marking to identify the vehicle to the air ambulance or other helicopters in the future. Thanks to Bluelite also.

Team members have undergone a driving assessment by the ambulance service driving assessors, and the vehicle has already been used on a number of calls since becoming operational.

The vehicle will carry the defibrillator, oxygen and other life support kit now carried in private cars, together with some extra safety and lighting equipment.Where two responders are on call the second will still use their own car.
