Bransgore Street Collection

Saturday 24th June was our annual licensed street collection outside the shops in Bransgore. As always, our community were fantastically generous.

The total raised on the collection was £648.73p.

Many thanks to everyone who contributed however much or however little. It really does help us to purchase the equipment we need and to keep us ready to respond. Our volunteers are unpaid and claim no expenses, they do what they do because they care about their community and you have shown how much you appreciate and support what they do. Thank you.

New team member

We welcome our latest responder, Bill, who has just successfully passed the initial training and tests and will shortly complete the local induction session so he can go on-call.

We are always looking for more people like Bill, who have some spare time they wish to offer to the community, but do not want the commitment of fixed hours and location. We ask for a minimum of 20 hours a month, at hours that suit you and until needed you can carry on with your life as normal. Training is given by the ambulance service, we provide the uniform. You must be over 18 and of good character, be of a caring disposition and be fit enough to carry the equipment bag up stairs and in a worst-case scenario, perform CPR until the ambulance response arrives. In return, you will not receive any payment, other than the thanks of those who you have assisted, thanks from the ambulance service and our team and have a nice warm feeling inside, knowing that you have helped someone at a time of medical emergency.

The latest defibrillator

We have assisted our colleagues in Heartstart Bransgore-New Forest, to install the latest public access defibrillator in Neacroft. Defibrillators save lives especially if used within just a few minutes of cardiac arrest and with someone doing hands only CPR. You need no training and you cannot do any harm. You just follow the voice instructions given by the defibrillator.
