Recruitment

Our newest recruit, Jonathan, has been on his first solo call and will help deliver our service locally. In addition we hope to have another applicant in the first week of April. We circulated a joint press release from the CFR groups in the New Forest West area, seeking more volunteers. The ambulance service kindly did some video recording in Ringwood, Bransgore & New Milton and you can see these on the Facebook pages of those respective Community First Responder Groups. If you are interested in joining one of our dynamic and respected groups do give us a call on 0844 500 9699 for a no commitment chat.

Defibrillator (AED) News

RS Fishermans HauntWe were pleased to be invited to the launch of the new public access defibrillator, located at The Fisherman's Haunt Public House in Winkton. We gave advice and assistance to Burton Parish Council when they were looking to put their defibrillators in place. This one was funded by Fullers Brewery. The Mayor of Christchurch Cllr. Mrs. P.F. Jamieson formally unveiled it on 27th March.

Our colleagues in Heartstart Bransgore- New Forest have kindly funded a kit which has enabled us to mark with a forensic DNA fluid, all public access defibrillators in our area, making them easy to identify and recover should any of them ever be stolen.

Bransgore Fun Day

On May the 1st (Bank Holiday) we will be at the Bransgore Fun Day on the Village Hall recreation ground 1pm - 5pm. This year we hope to bring with us a full size ambulance, used in the education role, so that our community can look and see what the inside of a modern day ambulance looks like and some of the equipment it carries. Please try and get along and pay us a visit. In addition to the ambulance we hope to run a small competition, and a couple of our team, in their role as first aid authorised members will also be looking after those with the odd bump and scratch.

The team will be revising hard in this coming month as we will be undertaking our requalification in early May.

Have a great Easter and take care with the DIY tasks. Don't become a casualty of over exuberant DIY!
