Defibrillator (AED) News

On Monday 6th March provided two Defibrillator awareness sessions / presentations to show how easy it is to save a life using a defibrillator and hands only CPR. We showed how a defibrillator works, how you find your nearest one and get it, what you need to so and how safe they are. You really can do no harm with one. But used within 3 or 4 minutes on someone in cardiac arrest there is a very good chance you can save their life.

We hope that the defbrillator arranged by Heartstart Bransgore-New Forest will be installed in Croft Road soon. With the existing ones already out there it should mean that the vast majority or residents in Bransgore, Ripley, Thorney Hill and Burley are within 8 minutes reach of a defibrillator.

Recruitment

With colleagues in New Milton and Ringwood we will be commencing a joint recruitment drive shortly to get more volunteers to help provide the Community First Responder service locally. If you are interested, please call us for a no commitment chat on 0844 500 9699. You must be over 18, of good character and have use of a car. We provide training and uniform but we ask you to commit to a minimum of 20 hours a month being on-call. You can carry on with your everyday tasks until you are needed to attend a call. It is a rewarding form of voluntary work and you will be joining a well respected and effective team.
