The Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance Charity went fully operational on 1st July 2007, and the service was formally launched at Beaulieu on 17th July. The unit is currently based at Thruxton until a more centralised base can be found. The aircraft is already responding to several calls a day.
The Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance Charity relies entirely on voluntary donations, and for this vital service to succeed, it needs to raise more than £65,000 every month: that's over £2000 every day.
